I'm a retired trans Naval Warfare Officer in the Royal Canadian Navy with 22 years of active service. I transitioned on active duty with incredible support from my chain of command.

I write about the hypocrisy and bigotry of the political right wing in Canada. I focus on trans rights and the desire of conservatives to target trans people - among other minorities - and remove their human rights under the law.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in general studies from Athabasca University. No declared major, but I went heavy on sociology. I also have a two-year college diploma in Law and Security Administration from way, way back in the day when I thought I wanted to become a cop (ugh).

Currently working on the Certificate in Creative Writing from the University of Toronto.

I'm an casual crafter, possibly a painter, and definite vinyl record enthusiast.

I live in Ottawa with my wife, our children, and a Potcake named Gigi.
